Everyone wants to innovate more, and many people don’t know where to start. Which is weird, since we actually know quite a bit about how innovation works.

Here is a list of some of things that we know are true:

1. Solutions come from empowered people. Delegate decision making as far towards the front line as you can to increase your innovation.

2. You can’t legislate innovation. It doesn’t work to just say to people “go innovate” – your business model needs to support it.

3. It’s not just about ideas. It’s the process of idea management.

This issue of the FAL bulletin reviews the changing global economic environment for the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean and

highlights some recent trends in maritime trade and container port activity in the region.

El informe relativo a la evolución del “Comercio exterior global” referente a diez países de la ALADI: Argentina, Bolivia, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, México, Paraguay, Perú, y Uruguay se elabora con el propósito de analizar el comportamiento coyuntural de sus exportaciones e importaciones intrarregionales y extrarregionales, por país de destino y de origen respectivamente. Dicho análisis incluye también una comparación entre los mencionados flujos comerciales y aquéllos registrados en igual período del año anterior.
